Xero Price Increase from 1 November 2026: What Malaysian Businesses Need to Know

New Xero Malaysia prices by plan, what hasn't changed, and six ways to manage the cost.

By FusionETA, Xero Gold Partner, Kuala Lumpur · Updated

Xero's subscription prices in Malaysia went up on 1 November 2026. If you pay Xero directly in USD, the new prices apply to your invoices from that date.

Here's exactly what's changing, what isn't, and what you can do about it.

What hasn't changed

  • Lite stays at US$7 a month.
  • Add-on prices (such as Projects and Expenses) are unchanged.
  • Existing discounts and promo codes continue to apply until they expire.

One change that's easy to miss: the multi-organisation discount

Xero removed its multi-organisation discount on 1 November 2026. If your group runs several Xero organisations (for example a holding company, an operating company and a dormant company), your total bill may rise by more than the plan increase alone.

The hidden cost on top: tax on USD payments

If you pay Xero directly, the list price isn't the whole cost. As a foreign digital service provider, Xero charges 8% service tax, and depending on how the payment is treated, your business may also need to account for withholding tax and issue a self-billed e-invoice. We explain this in Should you pay Xero in USD or a local partner in RM?

Six ways to manage the increase

  1. Check which plan you're on. In Xero, look at the "Subscription" column of your organisation list.
  2. Right-size your plan. Premium is only needed for multi-currency. If you no longer buy or sell in foreign currencies, Standard may be enough. If you issue few invoices, Starter or Lite may be enough.
  3. Review every organisation you pay for. With the multi-organisation discount gone, archive dormant or duplicate organisations you no longer need (keep any records you're legally required to retain).
  4. Review add-ons. Cancel Projects or Expenses seats for people who don't use them.
  5. Look at the current promotion. Xero is offering 50% off for 36 months on Malaysia subscriptions bought through its website before 31 December 2026 (terms apply).
  6. Consider an annual subscription in RM. Paying a Malaysian Xero partner annually in Ringgit gives you one fixed price for the year, a local e-invoice and no USD exchange-rate swings.

Frequently asked questions

Does the increase affect me if I bought Xero through a partner?

It depends on how your partner bills you. If you prepaid an annual subscription in RM, your current year is already paid; ask your partner how renewal pricing will work.

Is Xero still good value after the increase?

For most SMEs, yes, especially compared with the staff time saved through bank feeds, auto-reconciliation and e-invoicing. But it's a good moment to make sure you're on the right plan. Read Is Xero suitable for Malaysian SMEs?
