Does Xero have payroll for Malaysia?+
Xero doesn't include a built-in payroll module for Malaysia. Malaysian businesses run payroll in a connected payroll app and post the results to Xero. altomateHR is that app: it calculates EPF, SOCSO, EIS and PCB, then posts payroll costs and approved claims to Xero, including tracking categories.
How do I track payroll cost by project in Xero?+
Assign employees to a project in altomateHR. Each pay run, their payroll cost is posted to the matching Xero tracking category, and approved expense claims map to the same category — so Xero's Profit & Loss by tracking category shows staff cost and expenses for each project.
Do I need Xero to use altomateHR?+
No. Xero integration is optional and altomateHR works as a standalone payroll and HR system. If you use Xero, payroll and claims post to Xero tracking categories, and claim receipts are synced and stored in Xero.
Can I run payroll for multiple companies (Sdn Bhd) with one account?+
Yes. altomateHR is built for groups with multiple entities. One login lets you switch between companies, each with its own payroll, statutory numbers and year-end forms.
How is PCB handled when an employee transfers to another company in the group?+
Use one-click employee transfer. altomateHR carries the employee's year-to-date PCB forward and handles the EA forms for both entities, so you don't have to terminate and re-hire manually.
Is altomateHR compliant with EPF, SOCSO, EIS and PCB?+
Yes. Contributions and PCB are computed to the gazetted schedules, and Form EA, Form E, CP8D and the e-CP8D upload file are generated from your approved payroll.
Can I restrict which employees an admin can see?+
Yes. Choose between owner, admin and sub-admin access, then restrict which employees each admin can view and manage. For example, a sub-admin can see and run payroll only for front-desk staff, while an admin sees HQ staff.
How do employees clock in?+
By geolocation (only within the set radius of the office or project site) or by connecting to an approved office WiFi network (SSID). Attendance then feeds overtime and payroll.
Can I pay foreign workers through Merchantrade or UnionPay?+
Yes. Foreign workers can be paid daily, hourly or monthly, with salary paid out to Merchantrade or UnionPay accounts.
We calculate commissions in Excel. Can we keep doing that?+
Absolutely. Upload your monthly Excel file of commissions, allowances, rewards or OT and altomateHR applies them to the payroll run.
What does “MCP-enabled” mean?+
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude connect to business systems. With altomateHR's MCP support, your AI tools can look up HR data and carry out HR and payroll tasks — within the same access permissions as the user.
